We Love Old Skool

I can't help but laugh when I look at my room. My favourite thing in the world became my own disaster. Yes you guessed it correct. That is my pile of clothes right there. Ah, such an appropriate noun.

In case you wonder why I like to pile clothes up instead of hang them, that is because my new trolley hanger collapsed. Yup, again. This is the third, with the shortest lifespan. I am a very poor girl who can't afford a decent wardrobe so I depend heavily on filmsy cupboard-on-rollers. Damn, too heavily. Yea, pun intended.

It has been 2 weeks and I still kept it this way. Haha I'm the ultimate bummer. I am so amazed by myself how I chose my daily wears. Tsk tsk.



We went hunting and had a pleasant surprise. We found a treasure cove. If you like Arab Street and Haji Lane, try Bussorah Street too. It's always nice when you have low expectation. Dickson was searching for this old old shop that sells authentic Nonya antique. You can find their famous beaded Nonya shoes, old jade, pretty china and even Cheongsam buttons. Not forgetting to mention the backpackers inn too. It's pretty cool, very laid back. So relaxing that an Angmoh feel asleep on the outdoor couch, with a book over his face. Looking at him and suddenly, Singapore doesn't seem to feel so hot anymore.

What truly fascinated me was its neighbour-- Children Little Museum. It's a old skool shop that sells, yup, old skool stuff. It used to be called another name but I can't recall now. Please grab a copy of JUICE magazine September issue when it's out, this little treasure will be featured. I know 'cause I know.

Everything downstairs is for sale, including the baby blue scooter! On the second level, it is a mini museum. That's what the owner want to call it anyway (You gotta pay $2 to enter). Don't be surprised if you are entertained by a hyperactive and overly enthusiastic shop assistant. He's just too engrossed in his job, he's harmless. If not why would I be forced to wear a full set of Nonya garment without myself knowing, just because he was too fast and too friendly?


Awww, don't we all miss the colourful candies that look so tempting in the glass jars and will most probably rot all our teeth? And the packet-snacks that came together with stickers inside that turned out to be 'temporary tattoos'? Sounds like the ancient Kinder Bueno. Or you reminisce the days of Sepak Tekraw and Chad-teh? Oh my oh my, we are old, aren't we?


I tell myself that I need to own a gramophone someday! And that radial telephone! The grandfather clock too! And also the old Classic camera!



It was all stupid fun. May it be pretending to be a barber or drinker stall owner.
Haha I felt super young too, wearing my plain white tee, school girl skirt and sneakers. ;)
